About Carol Leonesio
Carol Leonesio attributes her artistic abilities to her mother and grandmother. Her mother sketched and painted for several years while raising her family and later in life taught herself how to quilt, a hobby she excelled at right up until her death at age 94. Carol’s grandmother painted oil paintings well into her 80’s and was instrumental in teaching Carol how to paint. She has fond memories of her grandmother hand painting borders on her walls in addition to the numerous paintings she created. Carol’s maternal grandfather was a house painter, so her love for all things paint comes as no surprise.
Formal art training was completed at the Art Institute of Boston, Boston Massachusetts. Carol furthered her education, studying Art Therapy and obtaining an undergraduate degree in Human Services from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Several years later, she fulfilled her interest in science by returning to Lesley for a Masters Degree in Science Education. Carol knew she would never leave her decorative painting career to teach full time, but often melds the two worlds, teaching after school STEAM programs to elementary students when time allows.
When not working Carol enjoys spending time with her family and friends and long time companion, Bob. Carol is the proud mother of one daughter, a hard working nurse practitioner, who lives nearby with her husband, Dave and their first child, Evie.
