Progress at the Day Care Center

June 10, 2008 //  by Paint It!

I tried to post this last night and this morning, but am having trouble with TypePad, so we’ll see if I can post now. I just ran home for a quick lunch break from my work at the Day Care Center. I’m hoping to finish today, but may have to return once more for a hour or two. I’ll post more pictures tomorrow, but here are some from yesterday:

Remember, I am only doing 1 accent wall in each room. This is a close up of the "Alphabet Wall" in one of the two Preschool Rooms.

Full abc wallThis next photo shows most of the wall. My camera doesn’t zoom out enough to fit the entire alphabet in the shot. The place is not ready yet, so you can see the missing ceiling tiles left out for inspections to happen. Also, the furnishings are not in place.

Numbers1-4In the 2nd Preschool Room, I painted the numbers 1-10, with corresponding circles beneath each number. Again, cannot fit the entire length of the wall in the shot, but you get the idea. 🙂

Cathy, for the circles, I cut 2 stencils from PJ’s mylar. One had 1 circle and the 2nd had 4 circles. This combination allowed me to do all the circle configurations I needed. For the numbers, I printed them out on heavy card stock on my computer, cut out, and used as a 1 time use stencil. Same for the letters. I cut mylar stencils for the shapes, and 1 time use stencils for the letters. I did the paper stencils because I am short on PJ’s mylar right now and need to order! It would be nice to have the set of #’s and letters on hand, so NEXT time I will cut from mylar!
