Day 2 in the Clubhouse

July 15, 2008 //  by Paint It!

Good progress today AND I was able to work in peace with only the occasional landscaper or outside painter coming through to use the bathroom.

1st layer fp
I am doing a multi-layer pearlescent plaster finish on this fireplace. This is the first layer. Yesterday, I put the basecoat on. The fireplace is electric. The horizontal bracket is for the flat panel t.v. This first layer is a plaster called Sasso Pearla, which is white, with a gray shimmer.

3rd layer fp
This is the fireplace wall with 3 layers, 1 layer of Sasso Pearla. 1 layer of Lusterstone Silver Taupe troweled randomly with Sasso Pearla, and one thin layer of Lusterstone Champagne Mist. I decided to let it sit overnight and take a look at it in the morning. I think I may add one more thin layer of the Sasso Pearla.

Fennel accent wall
This wall of Fennel is an accent wall opposite the fireplace wall. I am not done with it yet. I ran out of spray adhesive for the stencils and also out of time for the day. I was troweling and stenciling like a mad woman today because a lot of furniture is arriving tomorrow for this room. I am going to try to get there fairly early in the morning tomorrow to finish up in this room before the movers come.

Also… guess who’s coming to check up on me tomorrow?… the dreaded Ms. Control Freak. I’m bringing my St. Catherine medal with me tomorrow.
