Wood graining and heights

September 23, 2008 //  by Paint It!

Chips
Yesterday I visited a construction site to view a room that needs some faux wood graining repaired.  This job would be quite a challenge in several respects.  Here are a few chips the contractor scrapped off the wall for me to examine and see if I can duplicate.

Job site

This is one very small portion of the the job site.  The biggest challenge, by far, for me would be the height factor.  This work would all have to be done on scaffolding, since it is approximately 20′ from the floor.  Everything below the ledge you see is real wood and will be stained by the paint contractors.  The top 4′, all around this 30’x 60′ room, was faux wood grained years ago. They do not want to redo the entire room, just repair the white patches.  I’ll be getting back to you about this…

The entire building is under construction and there had to be a good 50 construction workers roaming around.  I had the song "It’s Raining Men" in my head all day. 🙂
