I swear, this is my LAST Saturday working this year!

November 24, 2008 //  by Paint It!

Images-1
Ok, now that I’ve stated that publicly, I will just have to stick to that statement! It’s clear when I look at my laundry at the end of the week, that I have been working way too much. The only clothes that have been in my laundry basket lately are paint clothes and pajamas. Not one stitch of "fun" clothes! Now, don’t get me wrong, I am extremely grateful for having work that is keeping me so busy, but it’s time to put a little more balance back into my life. All I have been doing is working long days and sleeping. I have been working almost every Saturday, if not on site, then in my office or studio. I want to finish up a few projects in my own home, get ready for the Christmas season, and relax with family and friends. With the economy the way it is, I’ve been over booking, but now I think it’s time to spread the jobs out a little more and work at a more reasonable pace. What will be, will be.

Multi plaster close
For my LAST Saturday job, I grabbed Stacy to give me a hand doing a multi-layer plaster finish on a long accent wall (23′). The final layer is a wax tinted w/gold mica powder. Having Stacy there to help, cut the job time in half, so I actually had a few hours left to my Saturday to take care of a little shopping. The brown plaster, which is the base layers for this finish, is done solo, around the fireplace.
