Well, I did return to attempt to finish that Powder Room yesterday, but…
My client decided she did not want the slate blue striae finish and opted for doing some stripes. I had to first fix the 2 walls that I messed up last week. I sanded these walls and applied 1 coat of tinted Kilz. While this was drying, I laid out the stripes on the remaining 2 walls. Remember, this is a Powder Room, so very small. It’s tall enough, that I need a ladder in there to reach the ceiling line. Also, all lighting has been removed, so I also have to have my own lighting set up to see what I am doing. It’s a little crowded in there, to say the least. I got as far as glazing the stripes on the 2 walls and putting the 2nd coat of base paint on the remaining 2 walls. I then spent a fair amount of time hauling my supplies down to the basement, so I did not have to take them with me. There is one section on one of the remaining walls that is a little too bumpy for me, so I think I’ll sand it with my electric sander and repaint when I return after Christmas. I need a break from this room.
My client discovered a leak in her ceiling in the upstairs bath that was just redone. We are having some very cold weather here, following 2 major snowstorms. It looks like they may have an ice damn under their shingles. 🙁 I felt badly for my clients, since their house is in total chaos, from so much painting and having floors sanded. They clearly took on too much, too close to Christmas to have it all fall in place.
I am putting away my brushes today until after Christmas and heading out for a long overdue manicure!
