The final layer on this wall is 3 separate groups of this wonderful flower stencil, called Sticky Weed from the Stencil Library. I often combine stencils from the Stencil Library with stencils from Royal Design Studio, finding the two to make a great marriage! Their designs just seem to compliment each other so well.
I’m using 2 repeats of the stencil for each of the 3 groupings I will do. I mask off portions of the stencil that I do not need for this design.
The stenciling is done with a beautiful metallic shade from Modern Masters called Cranberry Mist.
Here I am setting the stencil in place for the bottom portion of this flower grouping. While I was working on this wall and waiting for the paint to dry a bit, I was also working on the opposite wall, the headboard wall. So… in the end, I was so excited about the new tree, that I forgot to take the final pic of the Collage Wall. But, have no fear… I will be posting a final room shot of each of the three girls bedrooms at the end of the week.
For the Tree Wall, I just drew a very simple tree on an overhead and projected onto brown craft paper secured to the wall. The only problem I had was the a/c vent directly overhead kept blowing on the craft paper and the spray adhesive would not hold. That’s why you also see a ton of blue tape. It was a very hot, humid day, so I opted to work very quickly with the a/c vs. closing the vent and sweltering in this 2nd floor bedroom!
I cut the tree out with an X-acto knife, directly on the wall, roller stenciled two coats of a gray tone and was done.
I think I need this tree in my back hall. 🙂
