Progress at the Cape

May 3, 2010 //  by Paint It!

Last week, Susan and I were able to make quite a bit of progress with the condo we were working in on the Cape.

Above is the Master Bedroom Before picture and below is the room "in progress".

Taped and yellow bdrm
The room has a very high, slanted ceiling… well, most of the room, that is. To warm the room up and bring the attention down from the cavernous height, we taped off the wall and painted this space a pale yellow. Next, a series of horizontal stripes will be applied as a border, all around this room and the yellow walls will be glazed.

In the Family Room, the white walls were painted a pale shade of green and then glazed. White shells were stenciled onto an accent wall by troweling Aquastone® through the stencils.

Here is a closer look.

The remaining walls received this soft glaze technique.

It’s hard to see the shells on the accent wall in this photo, but here you can see how the plain, glazed wall meets the accent wall. Next in this room, the fireplace wall will receive new finishes.
