Tommi

January 31, 2011 //  by Paint It!

Pnut and tommi Last week I had to say good by to my kitty of 18 + years, Tommi. She is the cat on the right (who’s head is cut off in this pic!) Her brother, Peanut (left) died in March of ’09. It is always sad to have to bring your pet in to be euthanized. I had hoped she would just die peacefully in her sleep. Unfortunately she took a turn for the worse last Monday and I could not watch her suffer. It’s so strange to wake up and not have her at my bedroom door or to come home and not see her waiting for me to come in. I can’t even remember not having a cat to come home to. I got these two cats when Sarah was young, about 7. I have to say, when Tommi was lying on the vet’s table, she reminded me of child’s well loved, stuffed animal. Her fur was matted and worn and she was thin, like a teddy bear who has lost some of it’s stuffing. Indeed, this was one very loved cat.

I’m so sorry for the loss of Tommi, Carol. My heart goes out to you. We’ve lost some and of course, remember them with love. Tommi was (and still is) loved and I’m sure that he felt it strongly.

I agree with Catherine. My Mitty Boy was a true reincarnation of the grey kitty I had when I was 10 (also Mitty Boy). All the same traits and characteristics — so much so it was scarey!!! I truly believe grey cats are the most mellow and loving of them all (if you want trouble and a lot of drama, get a Calico….!!!!!!) Sorry, Miss Piss!!!
