Stenciled Valances

April 2, 2012 //  by Paint It!

Back in March, which seems so long ago, I showed you a quick job I did for a client where I just added a few berries and changed the leaf color to an existing vine I had done years ago.

Valance1Well, the homeowner decided to have a pair of valances made for me to stencil too. The top was left unfinished on each, so I could insert some cardboard and not stencil onto the back.

If I didn’t already have too may projects on my "to do" list, I’d consider stenciling some of these for myself!

Those look great Carol! What kind of paint did you use?

I just used those 2 oz craft paints, (ie. Folk Art, DecoArt). I mixed in some Folk Art Textile Medium, which helps the color to last when washed. I’ve had that bottle of Textile Medium for ages. A little goes a long way! Merilee, you sent that bottle to me a long time ago! 🙂
