Tapestry of Cultures

Outdoor Murals/Artwork

September 8, 2014 //  by Paint It!

This week’s posts will be devoted to works of art found outdoors, right here in my community: Watertown, Massachusetts.

Tapestry of CulturesWe have a new, beautiful mural in town called, “Tapestry of Cultures”. This project, designed by Roxbury artist, Gregg Bernstein, enlisted the help of some Watertown High School students who are members of the art program. Funding for this public art was through New England Foundation for the Arts.

The bright, bold colors bring a huge smile to my face, especially when I am stuck in traffic!

A job well done by these students and huge thanks to Gregg Bernstein for all the effort it took to bring his vision to fruition here in Watertown. What a wonderful gift to Watertown residents!

This was quite an endeavor for these young students and I am totally impressed with their dedication to this project and the end result. To read more about this mural, click here.

It was very difficult to try to photograph the entire length of this huge mural, so here are some close up pics I took at various points of the mural. The one long shot I was able to get, had to be taken far away in a nearby parking lot.
